UI Toolbox for UI Toolkit

A themeable UI Toolkit toolbox for runtime UIs: an MDI window system with docking, tabs and saved layouts, and 70+ controls that follow one --tb-* variable contract.

Install

  1. In Unity, select Window > Package Manager.
  2. Select My Assets, then select UI Toolbox for UI Toolkit.
  3. Click Download, then click Import.
  4. In the Import window, click Import.

All files go into the folder Assets/UIToolbox. To see the controls, open the scene Assets/UIToolbox/DemoMenu and press Play.

Contents

Folder Assembly Contents
Runtime UIToolbox.Runtime The workspace, the windows, the Toolbox controls, the animations and the sounds.
Runtime/Resources/UIToolbox The USS, the themes, the window templates and the input actions. The runtime loads them with Resources.Load.
Editor UIToolbox.Editor The Setup Wizard (Tools > UI Toolbox > Setup Wizard), the animation editor window, the animation preset tools and the OpenWindowOnClick inspector.
Examples UIToolbox.Samples The demo menu, the Toolbox gallery and the example scenes (Examples/Scenes). Your project does not need this folder; you can delete it.
Documentation One document for each control and each feature, and the same documents as HTML pages (Documentation/site/index.html).

The Input System is optional. With com.unity.inputsystem installed, the workspace shortcuts and OpenWindowOnClick use it, and KeyBindingField and InputSettingsPanel (a key rebinding screen) are available.

The Universal Render Pipeline is optional. With com.unity.render-pipelines.universal 17 or later installed, GraphicsSettingsPanel also sets the render scale, anti-aliasing, shadows and post-processing.

WorkspaceAudio plays the UI sounds of an ToolboxSoundSet: windows, clicks, hover, toggles, tabs, dropdowns, sliders and messages. The package has no audio clips. The samples have two sound sets (Assets/UIToolbox/Examples/Audio).

AudioSettingsPanel sets the master volume without a mixer. Give it an AudioMixer with the exposed parameters MusicVolume, EffectsVolume and VoiceVolume for the group volumes.

Documentation

The documentation has one page for each control and each feature, with examples and how-to steps. To read it in Unity, open the scene DemoMenu, press Play and click Documentation. The changes of each release are in CHANGELOG.md.
